ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH.- The Lady Warriors welcome Rachel Saari to the 2012 basketball recruiting class.
Saari, native of Macomb Township, comes to Rochester College after playing high school basketball at Eisenhower under Coach Kevin Donahue. While an Eagle competing in the Macomb Area Conference (MAC) White division, Saari was a two sport varsity athlete in basketball and volleyball. She scored a career high 23 points in a single game, along with other career bests of 5 steals, 3 blocks, and 4 three-pointers in a single performance. Eisenhower finished third in their division Saari's senior season. She played Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball in Eisenhower's offseason, and finished as the state runners up while playing for the Michigan Pistons last year.
"We are excited to have Rachel Saari joining our program in the fall. She comes from a solid program at Eisenhower High School under Coach Donahue," Said Rochester College Head Coach Eric Sims. "She is a very good shooter and we expect a lot of her on our JV team next year. She definitely has a solid future with our varsity team also. Rachel also is a hard worker in the classroom as well as being a talented basketball player. I look forward to coaching her over the next few years."
