WATERVILLE, OH- On Tuesday, June 6, Rochester College Head Baseball coach Jordan Ackerman announced the signing of Anthony Wayne High School graduate, Josh Meyers.
Meyers joins high school teammate, Josh Lindke as they head to Rochester College to start their college careers. Meyers enjoyed a very decorated senior year earning All-Northern Lakes Conference, All-District, and All-State honors after batting .478 and stealing 20 bases.
Meyers helped lead his team to a 25-3 record and a Northern Lakes Conference Championship under General's head coach Mark Nell. At the conclusion of the season, Meyers was selected as his team's Most Valuable Player and also earned All-Academic honors for his achievements in the classroom.
Coach Ackerman on Meyers:
"Josh is a fantastic young man who comes from a top-notch high school program. Playing for Coach Nell in high school, I know Josh is going to come in ahead of the game. Josh received several awards his senior year because of his hard work in the off-season and his selfless attitude. He is a team player that is willing to do whatever it takes to put the team in a good position to win. We are very fortunate that Josh decided on us. I feel that he has the ability to come in as a freshman and play right away. Academically, Josh has been at the top of his class. Josh is the total package."
