PONTIAC, MI- With 3:34 remaining on the clock in double overtime, freshman Troy Mannino (Clinton Twp., MI/Chippewa Valley) struck the ball from the corner intending to connect with an RC header. A Forester defender went to block the pass and tipped it in to his own net giving the Warriors their first win of the season at their home opener.

The Warriors (1-0) defeated the Foresters (0-2) by a final score of 2-1 in double overtime. The Foresters scored the first goal of the game at the 44:34 mark in the first half on a corner kick. The Warriors answered back in the second half when freshman Daniel Seargeant (Wallasey, England/Mossland) connected on sophomore Hayden Clark's (Shelby, MI/Eisenhower) corner kick.

The Warriors compiled 13 shots on goal to the Foresters' 8. Senior Steve Jesionowski (Highland, MI/Milford) put up a steel curtain in front of the RC net saving 6 shots on goal.

The Warriors travel to Springfield, IL to take on Robert Morris College this weekend. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
