ANGOLA, IND.- On Sept. 2nd, the Rochester College women's golf team opened the 2011 season at Trine University in the extremely hot weather conditions. Despite an 11 out of 12 finish, the Lady Warriors set new records and started the season on a high-note.

The match was highlighted by a record breaking performance from freshman Danielle Godair (New Hudson, MI/South Lyon) who finished day two of the invitational with an 81. The team as a whole set a new Rochester College women's golf record by finishing day two with a team score of 372, giving them a two day total of 768.

RC head golf coach Clayton Bissett was excited about the way his team stepped up despite the elements. "I am very proud of the women's effort.  The weather was extremely tough with temperatures in the mid to high 90's, and there were a few golfers at the tournament who got sick because of it.  We did not reach our team goal, but we laid a good foundation with this tournament."

The Lady Warriors look to break their own records in their next tournament on Sept. 9th at the Olivet Invitational.
