ANN ARBOR, MICH.- The Warriors dropped two heartbreakers yesterday, April 11, despite the great pitching from Austin Timmerman in game two (Richmond, MI/Richmond). Rochester College dropped to 18-21 after the 13-12 and 1-0 losses to Concordia University.

David Woodson (Vallejo, CA/Vallejo) led Rochester College in game one, with 3 RBIs off of 3 for 4 at the plate. He had a homerun, a double, and was intentionally walked once. Ray Yesh (Dearborn, MI/Cabrini) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Eric Ramirez tallied 2 RBIs of his own off of 3 for 4 at the plate.

Matthew St. Kitts led the Cardinals with 3 RBIs off of 2 for 4 hitting and 1 homerun. Chandler Sidwell, Chase Freeman, and Nate McHugh each added 2 RBIs. Sidwell and Thomas Sperry each had a homerun in the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Noack picked up the win for Concordia on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings and striking out 4 batters.

Game one started in Rochester College's favor, with a lead off single from Ryan Chipka (Waterville, OH/Anthony Wayne). Woodson brought Chipka home with a two shot homerun over the right field fence. Concordia kept the game close with a run in the first and second innings. The Warriors' bats continued to work in the third, putting up 4 runs. Woodson brought Eric Ramirez (San Antonio, TX/Catholic Central) in with a deep double to left-center field. Yesh followed Woodson's double up with an RBI single. Going into the bottom of the fourth, Rochester College led 7-2. The Cardinals came alive in the fourth though, putting up 8 runs off of pitcher Andrew Jarrell (Commerce, MI/Walled Lake Northern). The inning started with back-to-back homeruns from Thomas Sperry and Chandler Sidwell. Later in the inning, with runners on first and second, Matthew St. Kitts hit a first pitch homer over the right field fence. Down 10-7, The Warriors chipped into the lead thanks to a double by Ramirez that scored two. Despite scoring 5 runs in the final two innings, Rochester College lost game one by a final of 13-12.

Timmerman was the standout on the mound for Rochester College in game two. The freshman rightie went 6 innings, giving up 1 earned run off of 5 hits. He struck out 2 batters. Ramirez and Spencer McKee (Royal Oak, MI/Mariner) led Rochester College at the plate, each going 1 for 2. Ramirez hit a double to deep-right, and McKee singled to right field.

Nate McHugh earned the win on the mound for the Cardinals, lasting 5 innings, giving up 0 runs on 3 hits. Jack Scheel came in at the start of the sixth, and kept the Warriors scoreless off of one hit to pick up the save. McHugh and Scheel combined for 7 strikeouts and 3 walked batters. McHugh led Concordia at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double to deep-center and scoring the game's only run. Ryan Neu batted McHugh home in the bottom of the fourth with a sacrifice bunt.

Rochester College lost game two by a final of 1-0 to fall to 18-21 on the season.

"The guys are just in a funk right now," Said Head Coach Jordan Ackerman. "They are still fighting hard and are close to getting over the hump."

 The Warriors take the field again at home on Saturday, April 14, against Robert Morris- Springfield. First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 1 PM.
