ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.--For the second game in a row, the Rochester College Warriors surpassed the century mark, this time beating fellow NAIA opponent, Sliver Lake College, 106-47 to run their record to 25-1. The Warriors again had six players in double figures and dominated the glass, out rebounding the Lakers 56-26. The Warriors also had eight blocks while only turning the ball over seven times.
The Lakers' only lead of the game came on a 3 point basket to make the score 3-2 in favor of Silver Lake. It was all Warriors from there as they held the Lakers to just 26% shooting and only 18% from beyond the arc. RC, on the other hand, shot 61% from the field.
(Kalamazoo, Mich./Ferris State University) led the way for the Warriors with another double-double as he piled up 24 points and 10 rebounds. Paris Pereira
(Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester HS) ended with 15 points and 5 rebounds while Viktoras Merkevicious (Vilkaviskis, Lithuania/McLennan CC) came off the bench to add 13 points and 7 boards. Jaylen Larry
(Flint, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley CC) and Armand Cartwright
(Bloomfield, Mich./Bloomfield HS) each had 12 points, and Brendan Adams
(Southfield, Mich./Clintondale HS) and Cap Wilson
(Davison, Mich./Goodrich HS) finished with 11 and 9 respectively.
RC will take the floor next when they welcome University of Maine-Fort Kent to town on February 4th. The game will be played at Rochester Adams HS with a tip time of 2pm.
