ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.--A walk-off single led Rochester College past Marygrove College 11-10 on Sunday. The game was tied at ten with the Warriors batting in the bottom of the seventh when Ricky Riggs (Bowling Green, OH/Bowling Green HS) singled driving in the winning run.

After Marygrove College scored three runs in the top of the third, RC answered with three of their own. Marygrove College scored on a sacrifice fly to drive in a run. Two more runs scored on an error. The Warriors then answered back when senior Chad Cook (Rochester, Mich./Macomb CC) singled, driving in two runs and then senior Blake German (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak HS) as drove in another run after he singled as well.

Marygrove College scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Marygrove came thanks to a couple back to back singles.

Rochester scored five runs in the sixth inning.  RC scored on a walk by Camden Hadley (Clarkston Mich./Clarkston HS), a single by Brendan Osantowski (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lake Shore HS), and a single by Kyle Hartwick (Oxford, Mich./Marygrove College).

The Warriors were able to even things up at ten in the bottom of the sixth inning. An error helped score two runs for Rochester.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as RC collected nine hits and Marygrove eleven.

Austin Kunert (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley HS), Riggs and Cook each collected two hits to lead the way for Rochester College.

Dan Monear (Allen Park, Mich./Allen Park HS) earned the win for the Warriors. He went two innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking one.

 

Game Two

The Warriors jumped out to an early lead over the Mustangs and took home a 4-1 victory on Sunday in game two.  

RC took an early lead in the first inning. With no outs in the first inning, German drove in two runs when he singled to right center.

Rochester had nine hits in the game. Hartwick and Troy Chinn (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley HS) each managed two hits to lead the Warriors.  Without commit a single error in the field, Rochester College was able to take the win with a final of 4-1.

Senior Mike Berlin (North Branch, Mich./Delta CC) earned the win for Rochester College. He tossed four innings, allowing no runs, one hit, and striking out seven.  Senior Jesse Rometty (Romeo, Mich./Romeo HS) threw two innings to close out the game and the season for the Warriors.
