ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.-- Head Basketball Coach Klint Pleasant announced on Saturday, May 20th that Federico Gallinari will be a future Warrior for years to come.

The 6'7" 205 pound Italian guard most recently from Sunrise Christian Academy Prep (KS) brings a combination of size, toughness, skill, and incredible versatility to the Warriors roster.

Prior to Sunrise Christian, Gallinari starred for various club teams in Italy, spending many of his years for Assigeco Casalpusterlengo while also playing for the Italian junior national team. During that span, Gallinari averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds per game. His last season in Italy Federico averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game before heading to the United States.

The Gallinari name is basketball royalty in Italy as his bloodline travels back through his father, Vittorio, who starred in the professional Italian league for 20 years. More recently, his brother, Danilo Gallinari was drafted as the 6th overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft and currently plays for the Denver Nuggets.

Coach Pleasant on Federico:

"Fed is a big guard with a high ceiling in terms of potential. He's skilled in all facets of the game offensively. He fit right in when he visited campus. Fed comes from a family of high level basketball players (Vittorio and Danilo). We look forward to working with him throughout his collegiate career and are thrilled that he chose to attend Rochester College!"
