ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.—Rochester College Athletic Director Klint Pleasant is pleased to announce that Rochester College has been named a 2016-2017 NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution.

Every year all across the nation institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to the NAIA's Champions of Character. Schools earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Each school also earns points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by obtaining zero ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.

As a member of the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) the Warriors received their second Bronze Award in the past 3 years. RC was one of the 44 schools to earn a Bronze Award.

The WHAC had 10 schools earn awards this year.

Coach Pleasant on receiving the award:

"Our goal within the RC Athletic Department is to reflect the school's broader mission.  Receiving this recognition reminds us of that.  I'm thankful to all our coaches and athletes that performed well in the classroom and in the community in addition to on the field and court."
