ROCHESTER HILLS, MI- On Thursday, June 9th, Rochester College head basketball coach Klint Pleasant signed Loyola High School graduate Matthew Gold.

Gold led the Bulldogs to a Catholic League title from the point guard position. He averaged 12 points per game while dishing out 5 assists per game. Gold became a human highlight reel when he put up 22 points in the district championship against Shrine High School. He was voted as his team's Most Valuable Player and also earned the "Mr. Bulldog" award honoring his hard work and efforts.

Coach Pleasant is excited about the newest member of his squad. "Matt impressed me the first time I saw him play on film and then in person throughout his senior year," said Coach Pleasant. "He is a tall point guard that sees the floor and distributes the ball. He also has the ability to score off the dribble and shoots the ball well from behind the arc. He impressed me with his ability to control a game without having to score. He was well coached by Coach Buscemi and was a part of a winning program throughout high school. I look forward to watching Matt grow as a player, student, and as a person," Coach Pleasant finished.
