
PONTIAC, MI- The Rochester College men's soccer team (5-3) won in dramatic fashion over the Concordia University Cardinals (0-3-1). The Warriors dominated play for the entire second half and sealed the deal in overtime winning the game 2-1.
The Warriors took an early lead at the 30:36 mark when senior Chad Helberg (Hazel Park, MI/Hazel Park) connected on junior Robert Ekrem's (Naddeoud, Norway) pass to beat the goalie in the top right corner. The Cardinals answered back at the 33:21 mark on a Warrior defensive break-down. The game went scoreless for the remainder of the game until 3:04 into overtime. Freshman Daniel Seargeant (Wallasey, England/Mossland) crossed the ball to sophomore Adam Shiblaq (Farmington, MI/North Farmington) who made a swift move to the net and beat the goalie to notch the win for the Warriors.
The Warriors tallied 31 shots on the day, 16 of which were on goal. The Cardinals accounted for 11 total shots, 4 on goal. Senior Steve Jesionowski saved three of four shots in his 95:58 minutes of play.
