ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.- The Warriors of Rochester College (9-5) will make the short trip to Oakland University tomorrow, December 13, to take on the NCAA Division I Grizzlies (6-4). The Warriors are looking to rebound after dropping a close battle with Grand Valley State last weekend.
The Grizzlies will be coming out with a chip on their shoulder after a tough loss to University of Michigan (7-2) on Saturday at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Oakland's high scoring offense, averaging just over 80 points per game, is led by senior guard Reggie Hamilton (Chicago, IL/Thornwood High School). OU has started the season strong with a victory over Tennessee (3-5), and remain unbeaten atop the Summit League.
Rochester College has proven to be a tough out, posting 9 wins already this season, averaging 74 points per game. The Warriors will be looking to junior forward Dramell Hogan (Detroit, MI/Walled Lake Western) to counter the Grizzly attack with his 14.5 points per game and 4.0 steals per game.
Rochester College will have to take advantage of the Grizzlies' defense that has allowed 77.8 points per game this season. Look for Rochester to take the three ball, and pressure the OU ball carriers. Oakland likes to look for their shooters beyond the arc, and also work the ball inside to the 6'9" freshman Corey Petros (Sterling Heights, MI/Utica Eisenhower), averaging 12 points per game. The Warriors will need to stay out of foul trouble to stay within striking distance.
Tip off is set for 7PM at the Athletics Center O'rena
