On Friday, May 25, Rochester College Head Baseball coach Jordan Ackerman announced the signing of Chippewa Valley High School graduate, Mike Martin.

Martin joins the Warriors after playing for Big Red's coach Jim Murphy. The speedy outfielder batted .330 in his senior campaign while being the Big Red's captain. Martin's highlights include going 7 for 8 at the plate at the Eastern Michigan tournament held in Ypsilanti, MI and a 3 for 3 game against Waterford Mott High School.

Martin also enjoyed success on the mound. The south paw recorded a 4-2 record, walking only 5 batters in 33 innings of work.

Coach Ackerman on Martin:

"Mike came in for a workout last winter and really showcased himself. He has a strong arm, is very fast, and has a very good first step on balls hit to the outfield. Mike is a very solid individual. After talking to him and his father, I knew RC would be the right fit for him with the type of work ethic and self discipline this young man demands of himself. I am excited to see the competition level go up in our outfield with the addition of Mike. It will be a battle out there this fall."
