
ROCHESTER HILLS- Rochester College Athletic Director Klint Pleasant announced Thursday (August 19) that Eric Sims will be stepping in the role as Interim Head Women's Basketball Coach for the 2010-2011 season.
Sims takes on the Head Coaching position after serving as the team's assistant for two years. He is a 1992 graduate of Livonia Churchill High School. After high school, Sims attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology/Sports Medicine. While at Lipscomb, Sims worked with legendary basketball coach and ESPN Espy winner, Don Meyer. Sims also had the honor of working with college basketball's all-time leading scorer, John Pierce. Shortly after graduating from Lipscomb, Sims joined the Rochester College men's basketball team as an Assistant Coach under celebrated coach, Garth Pleasant where his main duty was coaching the post players. During his 11 years on Coach Pleasant's staff, he was fortunate to be a part of 2 USCAA National Championship teams as well as contribute to the development of All-American post players Mike Robinson, Bennie Theriot, Mike Tobin and Will Goree.
Eric is married to the former Jill Shultz of East Liverpool, Ohio. They have two sons: seven-year-old Corson and five-year-old Braden. Eric and his family reside in Redford, MI.
