Scott Samuels serves as Director of Admissions and Assistant Athletic Director. His main responsibility is working directly with the Admissions Recruiters and serves as their day to day manager. Scott also serves as the international recruiting coordinator, is the liaison for Admissions with Student Financial Services, and works directly with the VP of Admissions and Director of Athletics in creating the overall strategy for Admissions and Athletics.
Scott is no stranger to Rochester as he grew up in Clawson, MI. Scott's family has been long time supporters of the College dating back to the school's early years. Scott began his service at Rochester College in 2002 as he brought his strong business background to the classroom as a faculty member in the College of Business. Scott's success in leading an employee fundraising campaign for the Athletic Center and his desire to work with prospective students led him out of the classroom and into the administration. Scott brings a wealth of experience to Rochester College as he spent 14 years in banking and investment. In addition to his responsibilities in banking, Scott also spent time as a personal financial advisor for professional athletes. Scott helped coach the RC men's basketball team in 2004 and 2005 when the team won a National Championship.
He graduated from Oklahoma Christian in 1986 and went on to complete a Masters of finance from Walsh College in 1996. Scott is married to Christie (Powers) and they have one son, Jacob Scott Samuels.Coach Pleasant on Samuels:
"Coach Samuels has become a very good friend of mine throughout the last six years while at RC. He worked with the team back in 2004 and 2005 as part of my Dad's staff and I asked him to help again. He is invaluable when it comes to organizational duties. He helps with class checks, study sessions, travel plans, stats and budgetary issues. The guys enjoy being around him and his positive attitude is infectious. I'm grateful he's willing to help, and the work he does makes our program better."
